Join Our Team
New City Homes is now hiring a Superintendent to oversee our day-to-day remodeling activities. The ideal candidate must possess strong leadership, communication skills and the ability to effectively multi-task multiple jobs. The projects will include full gut rehabs of homes that are 100+ years old as well as homes/buildings with smaller scopes and budgets. Every project is unique and requires full attention to detail to make the most of each project and the team’s efforts.
Position Role and Responsibility – Superintendent for Residential Remodels

Majority of the projects are 100+ year old single family homes and experience with these types of remodel projects is required.

Walk potential acquisitions for pre-purchase evaluation.

Create a comprehensive scope of work that is in line with the acquisition staff’s directives and target budget.

Request, organize and negotiate multiple general contractor bids for each project and adjust the scope when necessary to hit the target budget.

Make final contractor selection based on bid evaluation and schedule appropriate workloads among various general contractors.

Direct teams of general contractors on whole-home remodeling projects from start to finish, using the existing relationships established with subcontractors and tradesmen.

Responsible for project quality control and timely job completion.

Build new relationships with general contractors, suppliers, and other trades to bring a wider array of qualified contractors to our growing number of projects.

Communicate with partners and general contractors in connection with field issues and project hurdles.

Conduct weekly project meetings with managing partner to ensure that each project is progressing as planned and any difficulties are discussed and solved.
Position Qualification

Bachelor's degree preferred and construction management experience necessary. High School Diploma/GED/ or equivalent at a minimum.

Verifiable work history/references demonstrating experience supervising whole-home remodels (5+ years preferred).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Must have excellent computer skills, experience with standard software packages, including Microsoft Office/Outlook;

Must have experience with job scheduling; must be able to clearly understand blueprints and construction techniques.

Strong work ethic, driven, and self-motivated.

Excellent organizational and record keeping skills.

A proven track record of delivering safe projects on schedule and within budget.

Strong knowledge of local building codes, and construction safety requirements.

Must be decisive and an excellent problem solver.
